In year 1 we aim to make the transition from Reception Class as seamless as possible. Offering practical and focussed continuous provision to compliment lessons and build upon the great start children have had from early years.

The Phonics Screening Check in Year 1 is a focus for the year, we build on the great start pupils have had in Reception. We know reading unlocks the curriculum for the rest of a child’s life not only in school but beyond into adult life.
